Maximum working pressure in MPa. Fluid temperatures are in °C. T_L is a minimum working temperature equal to or below the normal temperature. Interpolate proportionally between tabulated temperatures; do not extrapolate. A dash (—) means the standard gives no rating for that combination. Columns 450 to 510 °C apply to the 30K, 40K and 63K rows only.
Material & standard
JIS B2220JIS K ratings are kgf/cm² nominal: 5K ≈ 0.5 MPa, 10K ≈ 1.0 MPa, 16K ≈ 1.6 MPa, 20K ≈ 2.0 MPa and 30K ≈ 3.0 MPa. The published maximum working pressure is higher or lower than the nominal figure depending on material group and division — for material group 1.1, Division I, the JIS B2220 Table 11 value at up to 120 °C is 0.7 MPa for 5K, 1.4 MPa for 10K, 2.7 MPa for 16K, 3.4 MPa for 20K, 5.1 MPa for 30K, 6.8 MPa for 40K and 10.7 MPa for 63K. Allowable pressure falls with temperature, and JIS bolt patterns differ from ASME classes of similar pressure.
